The story began with a married couple, Miguel and Mª Carmen, both pharmacists, who had lived in the town of Granadilla de Abona for many years. El Médano was a small, quiet town at the time, and it took the couple three years of hard work to open the pharmacy. After overcoming numerous challenges, the Supreme Court approved its opening in January 1985. Over the years, as El Médano grew and the needs of its residents increased, the pharmacy evolved to meet those demands, including moving to a larger location to better serve the growing population.

As the town continued to develop, the pharmacy expanded its services, adding more staff to ensure that pharmaceutical care was delivered efficiently and professionally. In 2012, Laura, the daughter of Miguel and Mª Carmen, joined the business, bringing new energy and ideas to the pharmacy. This led to a near-complete renovation of the premises to accommodate the growing demands of the pharmacy and incorporate the latest technological advancements. A significant feature of this renovation was the addition of an intercom system to provide better access for people with disabilities, allowing those in need of assistance to receive support at the entrance, particularly for parents with strollers.

The pharmacy’s commitment to evolution and progress continues today, as it embraces the digital platform to offer more accessible services. The staff views the pharmacy as a living organism, constantly adapting to the needs of the community while providing top-notch care.
